Several Months ago I made a change in my life! I was tired of being tired and overweight. I realized where I was, and I was not a happy camper. So this blog is going to be open and honest and show you the pain and the gain.
A number of years ago we retired “comfortably” and we were living the dream. Everything was taken care of. We live on the lake, so our home was our summer vacation. January/February we traveled somewhere warm for 
several weeks at a time. Bills were all taken care of, added expenses were easily handled and life was good. Most people envied us. We weren’t rich by any means but comfortable. Then it HIT!!! The recession and little did we know… Pensions are NOT recession proof. We were SLAMMED, SLICED AND DICED. Our comfortable lifestyle was no more. We had JUST enough to pay our bills if we cut back drastically. Does this sound familiar to you? Are you there now? If you are, we know your pain. Yes, it is an actual physical pain, filled with anxiety and many sleepless nights. We spent hours and hours pouring over, redoing and sending out resumes, hunting the job banks, board, agencies etc. I started to blog and work consulting with a number of companies but the money was just not enough. We all have personal and business challenges and when we hit them sometimes we just stall, stop and/ or retreat. It’s perfectly alright to stop and take a deep breath. In fact, it is one of the best things you can do instead of reacting in haste. During this time, take time to dig a little deeper.
So many are afraid to dig a little deeper into “who, what and why” they are, because it will change your life. These changes can be very uncomfortable but nonetheless you will grow from it, whether you want to or not, whether you are ready for it or not. Digging deeper, means getting to know yourself better. When you get to know your true self, life begins to unfold in ways you could never have dreamed possible.
Will life change – yes most definitely. The question is, are you willing and committed to reaching your dreams, or are you satisfied with life as it is?
You WILL begin to live your life ON Purpose – All you need to do is commit and reach for it. You’ll discover more about you, than you have seen in a long time – and you will shine!
Let go and allow the journey to start. We hold on to so many things that hold us back, they keep us anchored in one place. Sit quietly, go inward and allow yourself to see and feel those things that may be keeping you from your journey. Notice them, ask yourself where it comes from and allow the journey to start and help yourself to see the brilliant being waiting to emerge. This is also called the “Star” principal, Stop, Think, Act, Review!! So if you want to be the Star you are meant to be, Start Digging Deeper.

Have you ever thought why you are making it easy for someone? Often we mistakenly think we are helping them and doing them a favor. But, what is we are not? What if we are not allowing their full potential to come out? What if we are holding them back from growing? Would you still continue to help them by making it easier?
I see that so often in business and I am guilty of it myself. When someone asks me a question about my business, services, or product, I am almost ready at any given moment to do the verbal diarrhea all over them. I have passion for my business and my product, it shows pretty quickly. Making myself more aware of what I do, my product and my services and how I present it, I have taken a step back and studied myself. I have come to question, I am doing the company and myself justice or am I actually not doing my best at the presentation.
Soon after looking at it from all angles, I realized that when making it easier, I was treating interested prospects like kids that didn’t know how to study, making it easier for them. Growth can be a struggle at times but growth and learning is necessary in life. I have learned not to take away that struggle. For someone who truly wants to know about what I do, they will ask me and be happy to research it when I send them in the right direction. I can answer all their questions but often it just falls on deaf ears because there isn’t enough interest. Many times, they will come back and ask the same questions over and over again. If they haven’t got enough time to dig a little deeper, are they really worth your time?
Take time to reflect and check how you are doing things and grow from there.
